The SACrS through the IUCr and NRF made an application for 2004 for "The International Union of Crystallography African Post-Graduate Programme in Crystallography (APPCr)." This was unsuccessful. A revised application for 2005 could be submitted when ICSU calls for proposals again, most likely in October 2004. SACrS members are invited to view the documents (listed below), take note of the ICSU requirements, and to make concrete proposals for improving such an application by emailing Susan Bourne (xraysue@science.uct.ac.za) or Manuel Fernandes (manuel@hobbes.gh.wits.ac.za) before 31 October 2004.
